It started with one dream.
In 2001, when almost all medical students in Indonesia were only busy with their academicals matter in their medical school, few medical student fellows had one dream, which at that time quite impossible to happen, that medical students all over the country have same chance to improve their self and to make something real so that a better health of global, especially Indonesia, can be achieved. Thus, at that time, those medical students from numbers of medical school in Indonesia decided to build their dream, by establishing one organization with widely awareness, knowledge, and skills to improve health condition within the nation. Jakarta, 29th February 2008. It was raining cats and dogs last Friday when CIMSA UI held one of it’s thalassaemia project activities, but fortunately it didn’t affect the ethusiasm of medical students in UI to attend our event. The event “Life with Thalassaemia” was a huge success. It was held in Auditorium of Thalassaemia Center FKUI-RSCM, attended by more than 150 medical students.

National Leadership Training (NLT) 2008 In Searching of Indonesia Next Great Leader was held on February, 8th-10th. Hosted by Sebelas Maret University, NLT 2008 took place in Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah, Surakarta (Solo). There were about ten universities that sent their delegates to join the training. They are UNSYIAH, UNAND, UI, UNPAD, UIN, UNISULA, UGM, UMY, UNIBRAW, UNAIR and also UNS. ACTIONS TAKEN FOR FLOOD IN SOLO

Tears were flowing when another devastating flood hit again, now in Solo, 26th of December 2007. Well, nowadays, we probably have been used to the term rainy season equals to flood. As the flood raised, CIMSA members and other medical students from Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, UMS, rushed out to join local society in helping the victims. We all worked as volunteers in several flood camps, accompanied by our lecturers, dr. Ratna and dr. Eno. The activities conducted at the camp included physical examination, diagnostic and free medication. During examination, we found many patients having diarrhea, loss of consciousness, and skin problems such as pruritus and rash. Click here for further details

Genetic Defects Leading to Thalassemia

SCOME National meeting successfully hypnotized and brought all participants to a new kind of world, the thalassemian world, from 10th until 11th November 2007. It was hosted by Faculty Medicine University of Padjajaran at Gandasari Hotel in the centre area of Bandung. Genetic Defects Leading to Thalassemia was chosen to be the theme, where a talk show was neatly organized defining thalassemia in every aspect. The 2nd EB 2007/2008 MEETING

A mind blasting second EBM (Executive Board Meeting) was successfully conducted by CIMSA national officers in the historical city of Yogyakarta from October 28th-27th, 2007. The venues were at the medical faculty of Gadjah Mada University and Kaliurang students' dorm. Each year, EBM must be held three times considering the division of CIMSA's period into three terms, each lasts for four months. All national officers are invited to attend EBM and must send their representatives if they can not make it. In each EBM, we discuss the progress report of the national officers in each period, obstacles, future plans, etc. EBM holds a very important role for the team since communication and distance are never easy, well, emails, phone calls, sms-es can never replace face to face meeting.Click here for further details

On the 7th and the 8th of September 2007, MSCIA (nationally known as CIMSA) of the Medical Faculty in University of Brawijaya held “SCORA-SCORE Meeting 2007” in Pujon Hotel, Pujon, Batu. This event was attended by SCORA and SCORE delegations from a number of universities all over Indonesia.
The meeting officially started with an opening from Dean of Medical Faculty from Brawijaya University, Prof. dr. Syamsul Islam. The meeting was arranged into two types of sessions which are standing committee (SCORA - SCORE) and joined session. Click here for further details
